Windows XP is a version of the Microsoft Windows operating systems. It was developed by Microsoft and released in 2001.

[edit] Windows Update and Service Packs

To ensure full security on a user's computer and also to provide other updates, Microsoft has released two service packs. Between these service packs, many updates have been released, most of them being security updates (usually named "Security Update KB" followed by a number). Service pack 2 contains many new features, also especially targeted at security. The Windows Security Center contains many security features, including firewall, configuration for automatic updates and others.
