Real time strategy
From GMpedia.org Wiki
Real time strategy (or RTS, for short) is a game genre. RTS games are usually war games. The player has control over an army or a group of units. In a level, some missions must be accomplished to advance to the next level.
Some key components of an RTS game:
- Gathering resources
- Spawning units
- Creating buildings
Nowadays almost all RTS games created are 3D. Before that, RTS games were viewed from an isometric view.
Examples of RTS games are Age of Empires and Warcraft.
