GMpedia.org Wiki:Golden Pages

From GMpedia.org Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search
Golden Pages are a special type of pages that has crossed the GMking.org Wiki's Golden-Standards. It is a category of pages that we believe are going to be very beneficial to its readers. We choose important examples and long, detailed pages that describe the subject of the article quite clearly and delivers an image about the subject that is as close to the truth as possible.

Golden Standards

Excluded Pages

The Golden Standards we have for our Pages largely depend on the type of the page itself. For each page, a different set of standards may exist, however, some pages may never be golden pages, examples on that include:

  • Talk (discussion) Pages
  • User Pages
  • User Talk (discussion) Pages
  • Special Pages
  • Project Pages
  • and any non-article page

Standards

General Standards include:

  • Length & Detail - the article must not be short, and details must be given when needed. That does not mean to create a long detailed page of something not important, length and detail required is proportionate to the subject of the article, being slightly more or slightly less detailed than the proportion is accepted, but more that "slight" changes are not.
  • Structure - the article must be well-structured when it comes to:
    • Well-categorized
    • Well-divided into headers and sub-headers
    • Properly structured into complete meaningful sentences and paragraphs.
  • Clear and understandable - "jargon" must not be used. Any technical term must either be briefly explained or comes with a link to a longer explanation, preferably both.

Nominating

To nominate pages, you can add them to the Talk Page of this project page. The administrators will then choose what qualifies to be a golden page or not.

How to see existing Golden Pages

Beyond

We currently have nothing that we believe exceeds the standards of being a golden page, so we do not see our "beyond" standard, which is a diamond page. It is a large project that we shall begin as soon as appropriate content becomes available.
