What doesn't the article count include:
- "talk" pages
- pages about GMking.org Wiki
- minimal "stub" pages
- redirects
- and others that probably don't qualify as content pages

An article is any page that is not very sort, not a project page, not a redirect, not a talk page, or a user page.

A sample page does qualify as an article. It is included inside Golden Pages. Each golden page, for example Surfaces includes its own /Sample article, like Surfaces/Sample. Only golden pages have this, because they need a sample page to be included in the main page's article showcase.

One might wonder, why not didn't we put it in a Talk page and made sample pages not count, the answer is simple: Golden pages stand for quality Gmking.org articles. In the current situation, each golden page adds 2 to the article count instead of 1, which is appropriate since Golden Pages might be considered twice as good as normal articles.
