Is a fourth byte used in 32-bit raster graphics systems. The first three bytes are the Red channel, the Green channel, and the Blue channel (all referred to as the RGB Channels). The alpha channel stands for the transparency of the point being drawn. This ranges from 0 to 255, where 0 is transparent and 255 is completely opaque.
